David Randall
Norwich born and a pupil of Ann Hornby, David Randall went on to Trinity College of Music, and there studied with Oscar Rosen and later with Alfredo Camopli.
For two years while at college he played with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Later, he went on to be a member of the Birmingham Symphony and the BBC Concert Orchestra before returning to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as shareholder and full member.
David left the RPO to do sessions in film, TV and general studio work, including working with Buddy Rich, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. He also took part in The Royal Variety command shows over a 25 year period. Later he did some period instrument work playing with John Elliot-Gardener in the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique also playing modern music with the London Sinfonietta.
Other musical endeavors include coaching the Hertfordshire Youth Orchestra for many years and guest coaching the Royal College of Music 1st Symphony Orchestra.
